Thomas Pump & Machinery is currently looking for a Mechanic Apprentice. With more than 30 years of pump manufacturing and distribution experience, our growing team consists of more than 45 employees and 2 company-owned branches. Thomas Pump & Machinery continues to evolve and grow through new and exciting innovations, expanded product offerings, and value-added repair services that support our all of our customer's needs!

A successful candidate will be dependable, with strong problem-solving skills and excellent safety record. Experience in mechanical repair, trouble shooting, and services of pump equipment preferred. Other job requirements include work order documentation, good communication and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operate hand tools to disassemble and reassemble pumps correctly and carefully.
2. Operate oxy/acetylene torch and grinders to assist in job functions.
3. Operate air tools to clean parts/components.
4. Sweep, clean, take trash out
5. Use of lifting equipment to move pallets, parts, and pumps.
6. Sand blasting of components
7. Keep a clean work area.
8. Must be willing to work after hours and weekends when needed.
9. Correctly Mix and spray skids and systems with single part and 2 part epoxy paint.;
10. Operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts;

Required:

1. Must have your own tools or plan to have them within six months.
2. Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
3. Must be punctual, showing up to work every day is a must.
4. Attention to detail is a must
5. Must have safety toe boots and wear PPE every day.
6. Must be willing to learn new things.
