Assisted Living Activities Director

Join Our Team as an Activities Director at The Manor in Little Rock!

The Manor in Little Rock, our luxury assisted living facility, is seeking an Activities Director to join our team. This role is crucial in building relationships with residents and custom designing programs to encourage all residents to participate. The Activities Director will create programs sensitive to the needs of senior adults, aligning with our community's desire to promote an independent, fun-filled lifestyle for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Create activities and ongoing programs that meet the interests of senior adults
• Cultivate leisure time activities centered around creativity, learning, serving, and enjoyment
• Create and assemble the monthly calendar and newsletter
• Market community programs and promote participation through invitations, announcements, and postings
• Coordinate in-house special events involving families and friends
• Decorate the community for monthly and/or seasonal themes
• Secure all entertainment, speakers, supplies, décor, food, etc., necessary for events
• Establish and oversee community clubs
• Provide opportunities for engagement in various community service projects and activities
• Manage expenses within given budget parameters using spend-down sheets

Qualifications:

• Assisted living or long-term care experience required
• College degree with an emphasis on gerontological studies/recreation programs preferred
• Energetic with a high degree of creativity for designing activities and programs
• Ability to interact and build relationships with senior adults
• Training or experience in event planning, recreation, music, drama, and/or art desired
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Computer proficient and internet savvy
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
