As aCAD Designerat Frontier-Kemper, reporting to theCivil/Structural Engineering Manager,you will have the opportunity to:

Uses computer-assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advanced Steel, Inventor and/or Navisworks) equipment and software to develop designs

Creates and revises models/drawings (detail and assembly drawings)

Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project

Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leveragesand location of holes

Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences tocomplete drawings

Designs detailed models of structures, machines and products

Draws finished models/designs from sketches

Updates Modeling/Drafting and Engineering Standards

Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production models/drawings

Converts existing production drawings to Revit, Civil 3D or Inventor

Communicates with tooling, QA, engineering, and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints

Requirements:

Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months of related experience and/or training

Minimum of 2 years of work experience

Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills, including conceptual and analytical

Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, and/or Advanced Steel software.Proficiency in Navisworks in preferred
