TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
· To support in the installation, commissioning, training, and servicing of industrial furnaces and providing the customer with competent resolutions to all issues.
· To be involved in the final build, pre-commissioning testing, and acceptance trials where appropriate in-house
· Assist with testing during periods of service inactivity.
· Provide comprehensive reporting in both oral and written forms to the Service Supervisor. T
Skills/Qualifications
· Associates Degree or 1-2 years of vocational-technical training plus 5 + years in a similar role is preferred.
· The Technician will need to demonstrate a high level of competency in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and application skills commensurate with the equipment being worked on.
· The Technician will need an understanding of power and control systems, PLC logic, PLC programming, HMI, servo drives, electrical and mechanical systems, and have the ability to diagnose faults and make repairs down to the component level.
· Experience with furnace insulation and temperature controllers is a plus but will train the right candidate.
· Able to work with technical specifications and drawings.
· Experience working with industrial communication networks/protocols (Modbus TCP, PROFIBus)
· Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word- Excel-Power Point).

- Preferred 2-year technical degree or equivalent technical military training or demonstrated job-related knowledge.
- Electrical wiring fundamentals and the ability to read electrical ladder diagrams and schematics.
- Install and repair refractory linings (bricks, alumina & boards) in industrial furnaces.
- Minimum of 2 years of field service experience in mechanical, machinery, or electrical repair service and/or installation field.
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems and PLCs.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to problem solve effectively.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to make good judgment decisions.
- Ability to maintain good attendance.
- Preferred experience or familiarity with RS Logix or other PLC software
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
