FACE is seeking an individual to fill the position of Grant Writer. This individual should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and great attention to detail. This role involves not only grant writing responsibilities but also overseeing development initiatives within the organization The Grant Writer will report directly to the Director of Operations as well as complete daily/weekly/monthly written reports for review by the President & CEO.
Full Time - $20 25/hour, depending on Experience ($41,600 - $52,000 Annually)
DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED
Write grants in and efficient and effective manner.
Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure alignment of development efforts with organizational objectives
Manage the grant/proposal submission process, which includes, but is not limited to:
o Conducting targeted research on the availability of private and government funds, including the identification of new funding sources, consistent with FACEs priorities.
o Collaborating with program staff to create compelling & accurate grant proposals.
o Writing letters of inquiry, grant proposals, progress reports, acknowledgment letters, and other correspondence to prospective foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
o Gather and prepare all ancillary materials to accompany grants (financial data, bios, required forms, etc.)
o Work with the management team and program staff to develop proposal/program goals; work with finance staff for budget preparation and track success ratio.
o Attending bidders conferences as needed.
o Monitoring trends and opportunities for grant development.
Work with program staff to complete relevant and necessary programmatic reporting of outcomes for funders.
Work with the accounting team to complete relevant and necessary financial reporting and audits for funders.
Participate in cross-departmental and organization-wide events and activities throughout the year.
Communicate difficult and complex concepts verbally and in writing, speak well in front of groups.
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, multitask, team environment.
Attend in-person and online meetings for grants awarded
Attend in-person and online meetings for grants not awarded yet
Keep track of all grants submitted and awarded in board report and master excel.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and minimum 2-3 years of grant writing experience in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Nonprofit Management, etc.)
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 (I.e. Sharepoint, Teams, Tasks by Planner, Excel) and Canva (or able to learn software and tools quickly)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of people and organizations
Comfortable with routinely shifting demands and performing other duties of similar nature or level as required
High degree of attention to detail
Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as with a team
Ability to plan/prioritize multiple tasks and follow through with deadlines
Problem-solving skills
Punctuality
Preferred: Experience in non-profit, government, or community development organizations
