For more than 50 years, Gowanda Electronics has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of precision electronic components for RF, microwave, and power applications. Components include standard off-the-shelf and custom-designed inductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers, and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (thru-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world. The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defense and other demanding requirements. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.

About the Position

The facilities and equipment maintenance manager oversees the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, manufacturing machinery, ovens, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance. The position supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment, and machinery.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance and improvement efforts.

• Select, develop, train, and supervise employees in the maintenance department.
• Oversee timely repair and preventative maintenance schedules for equipment.
• Negotiate and manage service contracts and direct efforts to efficiently procure equipment, parts, and related supplies.
• Directly lead or coordinate all energy and sustainability projects.
• Plan and propose strategic capital expenditures and budgeting to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with site-management and HR on safety, security, and emergency preparedness efforts.
• Maintain all inspection, audit, and maintenance records.
• Set a consistent example for others in management effectiveness, leadership style, communication, and integrity.
• Act as site safety coordinator.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: 5+ years of related management experience. Certified Facilities Management (CFM) certification preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage others, develop and mentor managers, and provide effective decision support through information.
• Ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and energy projects.
• Ability to develop and cost justify a capital budget, and the ability to achieve departmental efficiencies.
• Strong problem solving/analysis skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of facilities, grounds, refrigeration, energy use, and equipment maintenance in an industrial setting
