Hypertension Nephrology Associates, PC is an independent medical practice serving the Detroit metropolitan area. For more than 40 years, the group has been providing specialized medical management of acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and post renal transplantation.
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. Our team's mission is to deliver quality services to the business, patients, and each other! We are true investigators in what we do, so your attention to detail is critical to meeting our mission. Being a self-starter is an absolute must-have trait.
***This is a work-from-home position, therefore, you must possess additional technical skills in order to be self-sufficient in a remote environment. . Local candidates will be issued a company device and will have the option for onsite training.*****
NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES: You will supply your own computer with Windows OS, scanner, and internet. You will be required to remote into our network, our IT team will provide support with installation on your hardware. ****
Position Responsibilities:
- Process eligibility accurately to ensure clean claim submission
- Create, review and submit claims accurately and efficiently
- Identify and resolve claim edits and understand billing guidelines and payer requirements.
- Review and submit collection accounts according to policy
- Review overpayments for recoup eligibility
- Provide customer service to patients with coordination of benefits and balance inquiries
- Initiate contact and respond to inquiries from various external sources.
- Comply with all government and third-party payers' regulatory mandated requirements for billing and collections.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information under HIPAA guidelines.
- Meet productivity and quality standards in the timeframe given upon completion of training.
Skills: Pre-employment testing REQUIRED - Coding, billing, accounts receivable, compliance, government payer knowledge including outpatient VA, Medicare B, and Advantage Plans, Michigan Medicaid receivables
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in medical accounts receivable related functions (i.e billing and collections of BlueCross/BlueShield, Commercial Insurance, Medicare Part B, Medicaid, and Worker's Compensation)
- Bonus points for nephrology experience
- Understanding how to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) form.
- Computer literacy skills, including Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
- Intermediate level experience with video meetings and related software programs.
- Ability to be self-directed, coupled with exemplary time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of the entire revenue cycle process.
- Goal-oriented, attention to detail, and excellent decision-making skills
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT Codes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work from home
While most services are offered in dialysis units and hospitals, HNA provides office consultation and follow-up services to patients with less critical conditions requiring a nephrology specialist. These services are provided out of our various offices in the surrounding area, including Livonia, downtown Detroit, Dearborn, Novi, Warren, and Walled Lake.
