Essential Functions:

1. Dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
2. Labeling, packaging and compounding pharmaceuticals so that all medications are properly dispensed.
3. Checking for order accuracy on medicine type, dosage, and correct packaging/ labels on all new and refill orders.
4. Educating patients on correct dosage, including frequency of use, time of day, and any possible food or drug interactions.
5. Following all applicable local, state, and federal health law (FDA and DEA regulations, HIPAA guidelines).
6. Providing immunizations, and other medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels, as needed.
7. Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects.
8. Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
9. Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
10. Performing other administrative tasks when needed.
11. Participating in Hamilton’s efforts related to revenue cycle, which include, but are not limited to, achieving goals for productivity; meeting or exceeding revenue targets; and expense management as budgeted.

13. Traveling throughout the service areas as required.
14. Performing other duties as assigned in support of mission and as required to ensure delivery of consistent high-quality services.

Requirements:

• Healthcare Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of healthcare services and basic medical terminology.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in basic data entry computer skills.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Team Player: An industrious and cooperative nature to foster harmonious working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public.
• Education:
  1. Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  2. Current, clean license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years’ experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program
• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center Environment
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, Nepali, French, Arabic
