Job Description
Position Introduction:
Wide Effect has partnered with the premier diesel engine overhaul company in South Florida to source a Senior Field Engineer. Specializing in diesel engine in-frame overhauls, generator overhauls, and general preventative maintenance. Our marine engineers each have 10 years of experience and offer service and support on hydraulics, HVAC-R, and electrical systems with complete mobile service to the South Florida area.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Field Engineer’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, hands-on technical service and team management and coordination on yacht and commercial shipping projects such as: diesel engine services, in-frame overhauls, electrical systems, hydraulics, generators, OWS servicing, control systems servicing, air conditioning (HVAC-R), troubleshooting, and general repair/routine maintenance.
- Project Management: Independently manage and oversee yacht and commercial shipping projects, including hands-on service of: diesel engine services, in-frame overhauls, electrical systems, hydraulics, generators, OWS servicing, control systems servicing, air conditioning (HVAC-R), troubleshooting, general repair, and routine maintenance.
Requirements:
- Independently perform hands-on inspections, troubleshoot systems, and equipment.
- Leadership role maintaining quality control overseeing and advising personnel.
- Read and interpret engineering manuals and diagrams.
- Perform parts research and parts purchasing. Identify vendors and cost-saving opportunities.
- Liaise directly with clients preparing Inspection Reports, Estimates, Project Timelines, Payment.
- Schedules, Change Orders, and Finalized Invoices.
- Write and produce detailed Service Reports to a proficient, professional, English level.
- Initiate, coordinate, and ensure warehouse spaces are clean and organized for optimal operation and safety.
- Maintain warehouse inventories, tools, and stock control.
- Ensure OSHA compliance with health and safety legislation.
Sales/Outreach:
- Coordinate directly with vendors, clients, regulators, surveyors, government authorities (USCG), and marine industry contacts to support management in sales outreach.
- Maintain and develop the company's professional network, brand awareness, and book of business through professional engagements and networking opportunities in the yachting and commercial industry.
- Work with management to identify prospects, strategic initiatives, and expand business partnerships.
