Ophthalmic Scribe -

We are an established multi-specialty Ophthalmology group looking for an Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for accompanying the Physician into the exam room and accurately documenting the patient-provider encounter. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the physician you will be working for. Our ideal candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented team player with great organizational skills. If you have proven experience as a Scribe and a desire to grow in a friendly practice- we’d like to meet you!

Job Responsibilities:

· Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits as they are being performed by the physician.

· Take notes during the patient visits and document them in the EMR system.

· Work with the Physician to complete and submit medical records.

· Perform basic ocular screening and patient history.

· Assist in the efficient flow of patients through sequence and evaluation.

· Review with the patient, written instructions as indicated by the physician.

· Perform clinical and administrative duties as directed.

Schedule:

· M-F 8:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Experience in a Medical setting (preferably in an Ophthalmology practice).

· Reliable.

· Excellent data entry and typing skills.

· Previous EMR experience.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Medical Scribe
• Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, basic ocular anatomy and visual pathologies.
• Knowledge of common ophthalmic medication.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and sterilization techniques.
• Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring visual acuity and applanation tonometry.
• Knowledge medical office procedures.
