We have an immediate opening for an experienced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer. The primary focus of this role is to lead our FEA efforts and drive innovation in our product design processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and conducting advanced simulations to support design decisions and drive product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the design and execution of complex FEA simulations on a variety of mechanical components and systems
- Build, develop and implement advanced simulation models and algorithms to support product development and innovation
- Analyze and interpret simulation results to make design recommendations and drive continuous improvement
- Post-process results to determine if products meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that simulations accurately reflect product behavior and meet project requirements
- Mentor and guide FEA engineers and contribute to their professional development
- Develop and implement FEA best practices and standards within the organization
- Perform reviews of technical analysis and documentation of other engineers
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and emerging simulation technologies
- Utilize hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis and other tools to perform structural stress substantiation
- Provide technical recommendations to repair engineers and report-writing skills to thoroughly document analysis methodology, assumptions.
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, masters preferred.
- 6-9 years of experience in conducting FEA simulations in an industrial or academic setting
- Strong understanding of solid mechanics and finite element analysis
- Advanced proficiency in using simulation software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN
- Excellent ability to interpret and present simulation results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and technical project planning and estimation skills
- A track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in simulation processes and practices.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
