Position Overview:

 

We are currently seeking a determined Director of Data Strategy and Analytics who embodies our core values: Service, Accountability, Customer Focus, Growth, and Integrity.

 

The Director of Data Strategy and Analytics is a highly collaborative and pragmatic, critical thinker. They can build a world-class BI organization by attracting, recruiting, and retaining top-tier talent. The Director of Data Strategy and Analytics has the technical credibility to gain the respect of a high-quality BI team, data scientists, and data engineers. Ability to work with leaders across the business and IT organizations. This position has management responsibilities for the business intelligence team including visualization analysts, data lake architecture, data engineering, quality assurance testers, and data scientists. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • A technical leader and manager of the business intelligence and analytics team, responsible for hiring, retaining, and mentoring data science, data engineering, and data architecture talent.
  • Owner of the core enterprise data model for business intelligence and analytics and to democratize standardized data access for all business units.
  • Planning & managing budgets for teams and projects.
  • Partnership and collaboration with cross-functional teams including IT and core business units.
  • Ensuring successful execution of enterprise analytics and business intelligence strategies, including:
    • Leader responsible for the Design and maintenance of the data architecture for our BI systems, ensuring that our data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
    • Develop and implement data models, schemas, and structures to support the reporting needs of our organization.
    • Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize reporting requirements and develop plans to meet these needs.
    • Develop and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our BI systems.
    • Develop and maintain documentation of our data architecture and ETL processes
    • Lead the development and implementation of BI solutions and projects, ensuring that they meet our high standards for accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
    • Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure that our BI systems are integrated with other enterprise systems and that data flows smoothly between systems
    • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in BI and data architecture and provide recommendations to improve our systems and processes.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in BI and data architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams with progression in responsibility.
  • Experience with a variety of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL tools. 
  • Experience in cloud data lakes – Azure stack (with DataBricks or Microsoft fabric) preferred.
  • Experience in data visualization techniques and processes (Tableau preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and BI concepts and methodologies
  • Experience with data governance and data quality management.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage technical teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
