Position Overview:

The Local Marketing Specialist will support the execution of brand marketing strategies, programs and tactics by directly assisting franchisees in their local markets with marketing plans and tactics to grow their businesses. The Local Marketing Specialist serves as the liaison between the franchises and the Marketing Department support verticals, as well as the brand operations, regarding marketing issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Brand Marketing Manager, Franchise Consultants, local advertising agencies and brand operations management to develop and enforce marketing and advertising brand standards
  • Support Brand Manager in evaluating potential marketing vendors for cross-brand and individual brand programs and services, support execution of brand strategies and tactics and support the Brand Manager in development of the annual MAP (marketing and advertising calendar)
  • Assist Brand Manager in development of and execution of cross-brand marketing initiatives, and communicate cross-brand initiatives to Franchise Consultants and franchisees
  • Assist Brand Manager in conducting marketing training for Franchise Consultants and franchisees at Basic Training, webinars, workshops, regional meetings and national conferences
  • Consult with franchisees and Franchise Consultants regarding search engine marketing (national and local Search Engine Optimization, Pay-Per-Click and Display advertising, etc.)
  • Assist Brand Manager with planning and execution of Advertising Council Meetings, including recording the minutes of the Advertising Council conference calls and meetings
  • Collaborate with Communications/Public Relations vertical on public relations efforts for franchises in local markets and in communications of marketing and public relations programs to franchises
  • Collaborate with Digital and Creative verticals to ensure franchise website content and advertising content is current, accurate and relevant
  • Coordinate franchise marketing collateral requests with the Creative vertical
  • Update and maintain content on Intranet forums and library documents as requested
  • Provide stock and template advertising deliverables to franchisees including but not limited to:
    • Printed point of sale materials (flyers, brochures, signs, banners, etc.)
    • Online images (website banners, photos, coupons, etc.)
    • Directional advertising (print yellow pages directories, newspaper ads, magazine ads, etc.)
    • Trade show support (booth displays, collateral, etc.)
    • Local direct mail programs (post cards, newsletters, flyers, etc.)
    • Email to existing customers (newsletters, offers, etc.)
    • Traditional media brand advertising (television, radio, print, etc.)
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Required Attributes:

  • Ideal candidate is self-motivated, confident and passionate
  • Exceptional customer service ability, including phone presence and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to fulfill questions/requests with the appropriate person in a timely fashion
  • Experience diffusing and understanding importance of crisis situations
  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter. Ability to work autonomously with little support.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite preferred (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Able to work in open area environment with cubicle offices
  • Must enjoy fast-paced, high energy, constantly growing organization
  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Education & Experience:

Education: An Associate's degree in Marketing or Communications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in marketing, advertising and/or communications
  • Customer service and corporate training experience
  • Experience with franchises and/or multiple locations a plus
