Description
Job Summary
The Accounting Supervisor is primarily responsible for working closely with the General Manager to ensure accurate reporting of the business unit's overall financial performance. This role will plan and direct all accounting operational functions and lead departmental staff.
Essential Functions
•Ensure adequate financial controls are in place for all business unit financial reporting, including inventories.
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other personnel to ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Maintain various monthly and quarterly spreadsheets of financial and non-financial data and report to appropriate persons.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis to ensure accurate balances are reflected in the financial statements
- Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
- Maintenance of and comparative analysis against annual budget, and interim forecasts
•Review and verification of monthly inventory counts to quantify perpetual inventory
•Proactively interact with supervisors, business unit management team, and senior management to ensure all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the business unit's overall financial performance. Be an advisor/mentor on accounting/finance to business unit leadership aiding the decision-making process.
•Participate in cross-functional projects with business and finance teams.
•Maximize efficiencies, organize work processes and procedures, and automate procedures through system improvements
•Adhere to corporate policies and procedures
•Anticipate opportunities and provide answers and insight to key questions.
•Other responsibilities as assigned by Leadership.
Requirements

•Excellent project management abilities, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously

•Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels
•Demonstrates leadership and integrity as a manager while representing the company to internal and external customers and vendors
•High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
•Strong interpersonal skills and resourceful. Excels in a team setting and can lead the team to meet objectives
•Experience in manufacturing environment a plus
Professional Qualifications & Minimum Education Requirements
The successful candidate's qualifications will include:
•5 years of progressive manufacturing and distribution accounting required
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree required
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), specifically strong in Excel
•Strong familiarity of accounting software
