Job Description

The Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for developing and actively managing project schedules, documentation, and team assignments through the use of work plans, clear communication, and providing billing projections based on contracts and schedules to operations leadership. The Senior PM works closely with the design team, supervising drawing preparation of unusual, complex, or original designs, and serves as the primary client liaison responsible for overseeing projects to satisfy firm and client goals in the pursuit of design excellence. Providing advice and guidance to the project team, the Senior PM serves as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting and construction projects.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Shepard the project through all stages of design and construction in conjunction with the design principal.

•        Issue and record Change of Service Agreements in a timely manner when client requests are made for work that falls outside of the               original scope of work.

•        Complete monthly billing review including project %complete and milestone dates.

•        Lead project meetings with agendas and ensure the accuracy of meeting minutes, including project kickoff and post-project review                 meetings.

•        Maintain continuous flow of critical information to internal and external team members.

•        Oversee and ensure contract document submittals for agency review, agency corrections, and permit approval(s).

•        Direct the preparation and issuance of bid documents, pre-bid RFI responses, and addenda as required by the project contract.

•        Oversee construction contract administration and attend construction meetings as required by the project contract.

•        Pursue new project opportunities with existing clients in collaboration with the Principal.

•        Assist staff in the development of industry knowledge and landscape architectural skills by example, and by seeking out learning                     opportunities related to new codes, technologies, and materials.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

The Senior Project Manager will be evaluated based on all the items in this document as they apply to the specific role. The following items represent the primary performance benchmarks that the company will be measuring and the tools that will be used to provide input.

•        Quality, clarity, and consistency of internal and external communication (verbal and written)

•        Quality of proposal preparation and executed contracts.

•        Quality of all published deliverables, including contract documents.

•        Client and sub-consultant satisfaction levels.

•        Ability to establish and maintain a project schedule, workflow, and budget.

•        Utilization of company project management tools and documents.

•        Success in developing the acumen and skills of others and utilizing firm tools for ongoing regular feedback and professional                             development.

ACCOUNTABLE TO

The Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager reports to the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

•        Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program preferred.

•        Landscape Architecture licensure preferred, not required.

•        8 years of experience in multi-disciplined architectural practice preferred.

•        Advanced knowledge of landscape architecture detailing and current construction standards.

•        Advanced understanding of landscape architecture, urban design, and related fields.

•        Advanced knowledge of the agency review process and ability to complete the entitlement and permitting process.

•        Advanced knowledge of construction contract administration processes.

•        Advanced leadership communication abilities required to collaborate with clients and the development team.

•        Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and other business software and their application to contract documents.

•        Experience with REVIT and Irrigation design is a plus.
