Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Live Event Audio Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio equipment for a variety of events and projects. The Audio Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality sound experiences. The position requires technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence in audio production.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Setup and Operation: Install, configure, and operate audio equipment including microphones, speakers, mixers, and amplifiers; Ensure proper functioning of audio systems before and during events; Monitor and adjust sound levels, equalization, and effects to achieve optimal audio quality; Experience with Dante, ArrayCalc and Shure Wireless Workbench preferred.
- Sound Reinforcement: Provide sound reinforcement for live events, ensuring clear and balanced audio for performers and audiences; Adapt sound systems to different venues and environments, optimizing acoustics and addressing challenges.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with audio equipment promptly to minimize disruptions during events; Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and repairs to ensure reliability and longevity of audio systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with production teams, performers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional audio solutions; Communicate effectively to convey technical information, provide updates, and address feedback.
- Technical Knowledge and Innovation: Stay informed about advancements in audio technology, industry trends, and best practices; Apply expertise in acoustics, signal flow, microphone techniques, and audio processing to innovate and improve audio production workflows.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when handling audio equipment and working in various environments; Ensure compliance with copyright laws and licensing requirements when using audio content.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an audio technician, sound engineer, or similar role. Minimum 3 years experience.
- Proficiency in operating audio equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, and amplifiers.
- Strong technical skills in mixing.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and schedules.
- Certification or formal training in audio engineering or related field is a plus.
