Job Description

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SCRUM MASTER/SYSTEM ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.


Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will perform Scrum Master duties and Agile coaching while leading and mentoring team members on Agile processes and practices and coordinating with them and the Product Owner.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Interface with customers and use oral and written skills to develop great working relationships with stakeholders and team members
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to complete the requirement verification process
  • Perform use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including definition of Epics and Features to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities
  • Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
  • Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department
  • Review the content and details of technical products, and act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field with at least 9 years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Agile practices and experience delivering products in short sprints
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
  • Previous experience as Scrum Master
  • Ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, and release timing
  • Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of The Scrum Guide
  • Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Solid experience with requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
  • Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system
  • Defining, documenting, and presenting the relationships between internal and external components
  • Communicating system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
  • Must understand software requirements development, verification of requirements and some experience performing analysis of software execution and performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Must be comfortable presenting to and interacting with internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Security+ certification
  • Agile Certification, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition
  • Experience working as a Scrum Master
  • Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA or other Agile management tools
  • Experience in decomposing (or assisting) Agile features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Experience in Python and automated test tool pipeline process

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
