The Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is located in the heart of Wauwatosa, WI.  The MRMC campus is a local, regional, and increasingly, a national destination for quality adult and pediatric care, lifesaving research, and world-class education for tomorrow’s doctors, pharmacists, clinicians, and scientists.

 

MRMC, Inc. is a non-profit management entity responsible for the operational and shared service components of the campus including transportation strategy, infrastructure expansion, the operation and expansion of Thermal and Water Utilities, enhanced protective services and emergency preparedness, and provides seasonal services. In addition, MRMC provides Finance, HR, and IT operational support to the joint venture Flight For Life, the premier critical care air medical transport program serving our region. The day-to-day operations of MRMC are managed by an Executive Director, while MRMC’s member organizations include Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, the Medical College of Wisconsin, and Versiti Blood Research Institute. Together, the leaders of these institutions constitute the Board of Directors of MRMC and set the strategic direction and priorities for MRMC.

Our Finance Team is expanding and is recruiting for two new positions, Sr. Accountant and Sr. Financial Analyst/FP&A. We are looking for candidates that enjoy variety and challenge in their work. Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

 

  1. Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  2. Five or more years of experience, preferably in financial planning and budgeting.
  3. Experience in the planning and transition to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system highly desirable.
  4. Must understand accounting operations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  5. Experience in a complex, automated accounting environment.
  6. Requires proficiency in the areas of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and complex spreadsheet preparation with an interest in strategic planning.
  7. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills, while consistently producing high quality products.
  8. Advanced knowledge of Excel and other financial software.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  10. Excellent communication and people skills.
  11. Ability to influence without direct authority.


Basic Functions

 

Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, the Sr. Financial Analyst will assist in reviewing current state processes and establishing best practices for all financial and ad hoc reporting to the executive team. The position requires leadership skills in the development of a formal budget process and participation in the improvement of month-end close. In addition, this person will play an integral role in a team led by the VP of Finance to review proposals, select, and implement an ERP system. Duties are to be performed in an independent manner and in compliance with departmental quality standards for timeliness, accuracy, in accordance with GAAP, and supporting the creation or maintenance of related policies and procedures. This role requires a continuous focus on improvement and active participation in process enhancement teams.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the VP-Finance and Director of Finance to ensure efficient and accurate financial analysis and budget operations of the department. Primary functions of the position:

 

  1. Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the ability to apply such knowledge to accounting and financial reporting activities.
  2. Analyze financial data and create financial models for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  3. Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  4. Participate in the month-end analysis to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close.
  5. Working both independently and with the VP-Finance, research and provide solutions to identified processes that have a fiscal impact to the organization.
  6. Establish a formal budget process and timeline for the organization. This will require designing templates and utilizing financial systems to ensure accurate and timely rollups, executive reviews/approval, and preparing for the Board presentation.
  7. Develop and maintain financial performance metrics (i.e., Dashboards) to measure the effectiveness of business operations and identify areas of risk/improvement.
  8. Help establish and maintain policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of all finance related functions and internal controls.
  9. Assist with Treasury Management, monitor and make suggestions for improvement.
  10. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, debt service, and company policies.
  11. Participate in cross-training with all members of the finance team to ensure the department has sustainable processes in place.
  12. As a member of the ERP System team, participate in reviewing and establishing an ERP system that will maximize efficiency and accuracy while reducing redundancies in the financial operations. This will require a detailed focus on optimization before, during, and after implementation.
  13. Other duties as assigned by the VP-Finance.
