We are looking for you to join our collaborative team as a Pump Shop Helper.
This role is to assist technicians in the cleaning, painting, testing, binning, partially disassembling of AC/DC motors and pumps. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates of HVAC and automotive programs or anyone mechanically inclined.
Pump Shop Helper Responsibilities :
- Assist in the maintenance of service truck tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Assist mechanics with the disassembly of pump and motor assemblies.
- Cleaning Parts using a sandblaster and air tools.
- Keep shop areas clean from debris.
- Assist in the maintenance of required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe and related material on the service truck.
- Performs cleaning, lubricating of tools as required.
- Performs duties in a professional manner and works well with others or in a team setting.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public.
- Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.
- Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned.
Pump Shop Helper Qualifications and Skills :
- High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School Diploma.
- Read, interpret, and work from sketches, books, blueprints, and specifications or willingness to learn.
- Familiar with various hand tools.
- Familiar with power tools such as impact guns, cut off wheels, and drills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 100 pounds.
- Must have a valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Pump Shop Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on elevated platforms
- Ability to climb ladders
- This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching
- You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery
Salary Range between $18 - $22/hour
