Job Description

QA Technician Level I Job Description & Requirements

The QA Technician Level I will report to the PITCO Parts Manager/PITCO Division Manager and will have interaction with other members of the management and supervisory team.  The QA Technician Level I will be responsible for performing functions associated with the quality control of all incoming parts. 

The QA Technician Level I is will be expected to QC a variety of new parts designed for the PITCO Department in accordance with drawings provided in the purchase order packet in according to predetermined timelines and technical specifications as set forth by the Project Manager or other members of the management team.  The QA Technician Level I will be responsible to ensure the quality systems are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.

The QA Technician Level I will be responsible to enhance the department and the entire organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishments and faults throughout the project life cycle, as well as exploring opportunities to add value through job accomplishments.

These responsibilities and requirements are considered minimum requisites.  These requisites may be modified from time-to-time as the company's internal systems and/or processes evolve in continual response to changing market conditions, and/or customer requests

 

Responsibilities

Assures quality products by adhering to quality standards and testing procedures

Measure and inspect parts received in from vendors

Record and document results and compare to expected results

Direct movement and disposition of non-conforming materials and provide work instruction on any sorting and/or rework activities. 

Investigate the cause of non-conforming product and work with the PITCO Department Manager to get resolved

Appropriately communicate testing status and non-conforming issues to the PITCO Department Manager.

Ability to operate and utilize tools and measuring instrumentation associated with the job

Assist in loading and unloading of parts as needed

Monitor and maintain testing equipment in a safe/locked environment.

As part of the approval or rejection process, must keep careful/detailed records of testing

 

Job Requirements

Good Mechanical knowledge

Requires proven experience with quality assurance and testing best practices, techniques, and methodologies and process.

Possess working knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and hand tools

Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing

Create and maintain inspection records for all components

Verify parts meet quality control procedures, engineering specifications and customer requirements

Inspect all new parts that arrive at facility

Quarantine, scrap, and prepare rework parts ready to ship for repair

Proven experience and ability to utilize various measurement tools

Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes

Basic Machining knowledge

Ability to read, understand and perform quality control procedures based on engineering drawings

Ability to follow directions from supervisor and stay on task

Ability to work with other team members to complete the required tasks in a timely fashion.

Requires ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, execute and manage testing activities

Detail Oriented

Desire to learn and grow the position.

Ensure the safety of oneself and co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents

Flexible - ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasks

Must be physically sound and capable of lifting seventy-five pounds without assistance

Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a steel toe boots, safety glasses ect.

Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures

Must be able to read and write in the English language

Good work ethic

Excellent attitude
