Grey Street Consulting, LLC (Grey Street), a leading small business provider of Training and Development operational support services to Federal civilian and defense agencies, is seeking to hire a Part-Time Quality Assurance Specialist to support our clients within the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
DOT is located in Washington, DC and this work is currently being performed in a remote capacity. Candidates need to be agreeable to the possibility of the government returning staff on-site, potentially multiple days per pay period in the future.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Specialist will support necessary.
  • Sets quality assurance compliance objectives to achieve targets.
  • Promotes performance improvement and quality assurance programs throughout the organization.
  • Ensures product compliance with international and national legislation and standards.
  • Defines quality measures in conjunction with working staff.
  • Maintains and sets up documentation and control procedures.
  • Leads the staff of various disciplines to plan, develop, and agree on broad quality procedures.
  • Capability of learning additional software that may be required for the position.

Requirements
Job Requirements and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience conducting quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

ADA Requirements
  • Operate a PC and phone in an office environment.
  • Work in a primarily sedentary position.
  • Perform some bending, light lifting, and carrying of equipment may be required.
  • Any additional office equipment that is required by the position.

About The Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) manages and supports implementation of the Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCTP) regulation (49 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 672) and other transit safety courses. The PTSCTP establishes a training curriculum to enhance the knowledge and skills of individuals who conduct safety audits and examinations of public transportation systems operated by public transportation agencies, and those who are directly responsible for safety oversight of public transportation agencies. Designated State Safety Oversight Agency and Rail Transit Agency employees and contractors are required to participate in and complete the PTSCTP.
The Office of System Safety, in FTA's Office of Transit Safety and Oversight (TSO), is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of safety-related training courses. One responsibility is to convert the existing rail transit PTSCTP courses from traditional face-to-face instructor-led formats to 100% online blended learning formats. The conversion will serve to increase transit stakeholders' access to the PTSCTP required courses and other transit safety courses and will lower the burden and cost for participants to complete required courses.
The Office of System Safety is also responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of safety-related on-demand eLearning and microlearning products such as eLearning courses, eLearning modules, educational videos, and other self- paced resources related to transit safety.
