Mechanical Engineer
Mason, OH
Permanent/Direct Hire
Core Hours: 8:30am - 5pm
Perform functions to provide support for customers, distributors, Company sales and support staff with systems evaluation, product demonstrations, product instruction, selling, supporting, design, detailing and develop of measurement solutions, packages and related products as it pertains to custom measurement applications. To assist and educate mechanical engineering staff in applying best practice design concepts and metrology method applications.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Understanding of best practices when tasked with designing custom electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic controls.
- Design, build, service and support of safe custom measurement applications and associated hardware/software.
- 5-10 years of machine design/build experience is a must.
- Advanced use of 2 & 3D CAD to design mechanical system and details for custom and measurement applications.
- Construction of Bill of Materials (BOM's) for the purpose of purchasing and spare parts of components related to the build of custom measurement solutions.
- Aid in the development and implementation of document control procedures as they pertain to drawings and other project related documentation.
- Proficient understanding of industrial material handling, manufacturing and quality control processes. Conveyance, gantry, industrial automation and robotic experience a plus.
- Assist in testing new systems and fixes to ensure specification conformance.
- Assist Company service personnel with support of custom equipment and applications.
- Respond to user calls providing technical assistance to resolve moderately complex problems. Troubleshoot systems, motion, software and operational issues.
- Respond to inquiries and provide support and training regarding integration and automation of Company equipment. Recommend and assist in developing suitable and safe automation plans.
- Respond to customer product inquiries, determine product applicability and refer to Sales for follow-up call.
- Provide instructions to, conduct demonstrations for and answer technical questions from customers, integrators and Company.
- Participate in sales calls and demonstrations with distributors and Company sales personnel.
- Participate in and support Company and distributor trade shows.
- Document user problems for replication in-house. Work with related personnel to debug or resolve problems.
- Remain current on programming, interfacing, hardware and systems technologies.
- Attend meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as required.

Required Education and Experience:
- 4 year degree or education equivalent.
- 6-8 years' of related experience.
Additional Requirements :
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering degree
- Project management skills.
