What will you do?
The Banking Specialist II is responsible for maintaining customer relationships by performing efficient and accurate banking transactions on the teller line as well as customer service activities like opening accounts in support of Bank goals and objectives.
Qualified candidates will develop a thorough knowledge and good understanding of bank products and services, will develop sales skills, exercise strong interpersonal skills, and have the desire to interact in a team environment.

Qualified candidates will develop a thorough knowledge and good understanding of bank products and services, will develop sales skills, exercise strong interpersonal skills, and have the desire to interact in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the daily operations of the branch offices including deposits, withdrawals and other financial interactions. While providing exceptional customer service to all customers.
- Engage customers while establishing deposit accounts, and accurately processes teller transactions and ancillary services.
- Sell and cross sell bank products.
- Collaborate with Banking Specialists I and Sr Banking Specialist to assist in daily branch office activities including balancing and auditing responsibilities of vaults and ATMs; comply with bank operations and security procedures by participating in dual control functions
- Assist staff members by using comprehensive policy and procedure knowledge to handle complex transactions and resolve customer issues
- Assist in the training of new branch staff and development of current staff.
- Assist in the growth and management of the branch portfolios
- Adhere to established New Valley Bank and Trust customer service standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality and efficiency of service.
- Deliver a positive customer experience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail banking;
- Proven cash handling and customer service experience including account opening
- Experience in establishing accounts
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift and transport bags of coin and currency to appropriate vaults and cash drawers
