Job description

Role: Solar Service Technician

Position Overview: We are looking for a talented, reliable, hardworking solar technician to join our service team for residential and commercial solar, focusing mostly on removal & re-install, commercial panel cleaning with robot cleaner, troubleshooting, swapping out microinverters etc. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of solar experience with outstanding customer service and communication skills.

Solar Service Technician - Key Responsibilities

Technical Service & Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install solar system components in residential and commercial environments.
  • Perform solar panel removal and reinstallation.
  • Conduct commercial solar panel cleaning using robotic cleaning equipment.
  • Repair, remove, and reinstall solar inverters.
  • Investigate system failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Perform required system testing and record measurements as needed.
  • Assist customers with monitoring system and internet connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturer technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Take photographs of all equipment for documentation and job closeout.
  • Record and maintain accurate equipment serial number records.
  • Complete daily work logs, task updates, and job status reports within the company CRM.
  • Create and submit weekly reports to management.
  • Customer Service & Communication
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication with customers.
  • Effectively communicate customer concerns, needs, and requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedules and proactively communicate delays to customers.
  • Maintain regular communication with managers regarding job status and service issues.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Understand, follow, and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly utilize companyprovided personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and serviceready.
  • Field Operations
  • Travel to job sites throughout the service area.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Regularly work on rooftops and in attic spaces.
  • Safely climb ladders and maneuver on steep and elevated roof surfaces.
  • Perform physical duties required to support installation, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with dispatchers, managers, manufacturers, and fellow team members to support daily operations and achieve service objectives.
  • Communicate job progress, technical findings, and project updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Required Qualifications include but are not limited to:
  • 3+ years solar service experience preferred
  • 1+ years commercial experience preferred
  • Possess and maintain a valid and clean driver's license
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Must be able to work on a roof
  • Must be able to lift to 100 pounds
  • Ideal candidate would be highly motivated
  • Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
