PR Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated PR Executive to join the PR and Communications team at Firmdale Hotels New York. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting team responsible for brand and media management internationally. The role will encompass elements of travel, food and interior design PR for one of the UK’s most inspiring, privately owned luxury hotel brands. 

Reporting to the Vice President Sales & Public Relations, the PR Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the New York Press Office for the two New York properties The Whitby Hotel and Crosby Street Hotel and subsequent openings. They will be responsible for helping to develop and implement an innovative communications and media strategy, to include social media.    

Job role and responsibilities:

• Work with the VP of Sales and PR to create and implement a proactive PR Strategy  
• Support with creative campaigns and idea generation, responsive to market trends 
• Work closely with the Marketing team and hotel GMs to develop press worthy stories and activate campaigns
• Working with the Social Media Manager, develop the social media content in line with Firmdale Hotels’ image and goals, and ongoing campaigns 
• Build and maintain relationships with press, target influencers and brand partnerships 
• Proactive media pitching and pursuing opportunities 
• A positive brand ambassador 
• Managing PR inbox and responding to press, blogger and filming requests
• Managing press stays and assistance with overseeing show rounds 
• Media database management - Updating details and correspondence in Roxhill database and managing our personal database
• Maintenance and creation of media lists and editorial calendars 
• Press kit maintenance, assistance with writing and editing press releases, maintenance of press image library   
• Monitoring coverage   - Scanning and managing the press coverage. Taking online clippings and following up with press to get international printed clippings, distributing to relevant properties and teams
• Assisting with the organization of press events including managing invites attendance 
• Reporting:
• Weekly PR and Social Media report
• Project reports – analyzing the data and saving the content

Requirements: 

• A minimum of one year’s work experience in luxury PR or journalism 
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with great attention to detail
• Excellent creative writing skills  
• Strong interest in travel and interior design 
• Strong communication skills
