Automation Technician

Mr. Bird is a family owned company which manufactures wild bird seed products in New Braunfels, TX. We started on our kitchen counter in 1996, and have since grown into one of the nations largest manufactures of wild bird seed products.

Role Description

Mr. Bird has recently installed a custom automated production line. We are hiring a full-time on-site Automation Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting automation equipment, operational oversight of the system, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and assisting in the implementation of ongoing automation projects. The Automation Technician will also be expected to assist with maintenance of other equipment on site, which includes packaging and bagging lines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years experience in troubleshooting and repairing automation equipment or similar
• Knowledge of PLC programming, motor controls, and industrial instrumentation
• Knowledge of robotics and robot maintenance and operation
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Attention to detail and a focus on quality
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
