A nationwide manufacturing group in business for over 50 years is experiencing growth and seeking a talented professional to fill a newly created Senior Accountant role. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this Senior Accountant position involves a combination of strategic financial analysis, accounting expertise, and collaboration with various departments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, a deep understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to contribute to the achievement of our financial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making through variance analysis and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Work closely with various departments to understand business operations and provide financial support.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Support the preparation of federal and state income tax filings.
- Stay current on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry or public accounting working with manufacturers.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
