Title: Senior Mechanical/Product Development Engineer
Status: Full-time (salaried)
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm
Working Location: Hybrid, based in Rockmart, GA (schedule varies by workload)
We are seeking a seasoned and motivated leader to join our Product Development Engineering team. This is a new position aimed at leading the expansion of our industrial steam and water treatment products.
Engineering:
- Exercise a broad range of mechanical and electrical engineering skills covering strength of materials, machine design, design for manufacturing, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, combustion, piping system design, and industrial controls. Utilize a variety of tools including hand calculations, spreadsheets, Mathcad, 2D drawings, 3D modeling, FEA, and CFD. Drive projects to completion by creating final documentation such as product manuals, production BOMs, gaining UL and ASME acceptance, and assisting with product launch.
- Manage Product Development roadmap and communicate available technologies, market research, and feasibility studies with Operations and Engineering leadership.
Project Management:
- Apply sound project management practices to properly manage and report on projects from ideation through launch. Manage budgets, set and track milestones, issue status reports, and communicate issues regularly.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a small team of product development and test engineers. Delegate tasks based on individual strengths and needs. Provide support to ensure team members achieve team and individual goals.
Collaboration:
- Work with Miura America, Miura Japan, and sister companies regularly. Communicate, collaborate learn, teach, etc. to close projects efficiently and completely.
Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working with thermal systems and related industrial machinery including exposure to steel construction, piping and ducting, combustion systems, fans and pumps, electrical controls, etc.
- Strong CAD and related software skills
- Strong project engineering and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget.
- Experience leading a small team toward a shared goal.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience with ASME BPVC design, UL standards, and similar preferred
