Job Description

Busy Rheumatology group located in Skokie, IL looking for Certified Medical Assistant.

Job Summary: Assist Rheumatologist and Physician Assistants directly and indirectly with patient care.

Essential Functions:

• Admit patients to exam rooms
• Ensure proper medical documentation, medications, progress notes, lab results, vital signs and medical history
• Identify patient’s chief complaint or reason for visit
• Prepare patient for doctor and assist doctor as needed
• Manage messages received from physician and PA's
• Prepare instruments for injections and aspirations
• Chart preparation
• Clean and stock examination rooms
• Assist with prior authorizations.
• Answer phones, and return patient phone calls as needed

• Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence while demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, peers and physicians
• Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
• Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations

Education and Training Requirements:

• Medical Assistant Certification
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and guidelines.
• Working knowledge of computers and computer software programs.
• Experience working with EMR systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance benefit plans helpful.
• Good organizational and technical skills.
• Excellent people skills.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Closed Friday through Sunday)
