Description:

BBBSSEM seeks an innovative and dynamic LMSW to pilot a Therapeutic Mentoring Program (TM). The Therapeutic Mentoring Project Director will implement a supportive TM model for youth between 8 and 18 years old, their families and volunteer Bigs. The goal of this project is to build a scalable, billable TM program model that leverages the trust families place in Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide and coordinate mental health services for the children and young adults enrolled in our program.

This is a two-year grant funded position effective immediately. The schedule will include some evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of youth and families.

Responsible for the overall implementation of the Therapeutic Mentoring Program as outlined during the program planning process, to include:

  • Review of all collateral material to create appropriate 'marketing' of enhanced services to families, community referral sources.
  • Review/update all Service Delivery Model materials for updates to interview, assessment, matching, match support, goal setting, etc.
  • Assess/create training plan for Match Specialists to support youth, families and volunteer Bigs in need of additional behavioral and mental health supports.
  • Evaluate the success of individual and group therapies, as well as the wrap around supports provided by other BBBS staff and Volunteer Bigs.
  • Provide Therapeutic support to youth and families enrolled in BBBS.Create treatment plan for youth, and support families and volunteer Bigs in understanding their role in creating change for
  • Work with BBBS Staff, Bigs, and Families to coordinate care focused on the Little.Responsible for all training related to techniques and strategies to support the treatment plans of youth.
  • Hire/Onboard/Supervise the Project Coordinator who will oversee the support groups and match activities that support treatment plans created for individual youth.
  • Identify trends in behavioral plans that could be addressed through support groups for youth, their families and/or Bigs.
  • Identify trends in behavioral plans that could be supported through enhanced match, and/or group activities for youth and their Bigs.
  • Provide oversight/supervision to MSW students working within the program and providing support to youth, families and volunteer Bigs.
  • Work with the Program Director to develop the billable model, creating a sustained approach.

KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS

Specific service delivery model tasks/responsibilities, key performance metrics and time allocations will be updated on an annual basis and may be updated more frequently based on Agency needs.

Requirements:
  • Must possess a minimum of LMSW.
  • Skills and knowledge required include written and verbal skills, proficiency using technology, commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, and demonstrated integrity.
  • Work outside of regular daytime office hours in order to attend to the needs of volunteers and families is required.
  • Hybrid work environment, must be able to work from the Southeast Michigan office two days per week
