About Perspectives Charter Schools
All Perspectives Charter Schools will provide scholars with a rigorous and relevant education, based on the ethical principles of A Disciplined Life®, preparing them for life in a changing world and helping them further become intellectually reflective, caring and ethical people engaged in a meaningful life.
All of Perspectives Charter Schools achieved Level 1 or 1+ this year. As one of the first charter schools in Illinois, Perspectives has a long record of preparing scholars for success in college and beyond. Our five schools across the South Side of Chicago offer an education that combines character development and academic rigor through the A Disciplined Life education model.
Our scholars come from some of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods in the country, but they graduate from high school, enroll in college, and persist in college at a rate above the national average. The keys to our success are our dedicated, hard-working, creative, and compassionate teachers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the ADL Interventionist performs tasks, which are in support of monitoring and supervise students serving in the Refocus Room. This class is characterized by the performance of duties involved in the implementation of behavior plans and monitoring assigned student work. The Refocus Room may be assigned to reinforce the teacher's initial instructions. Work is performed under the direction of the Interventionist. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Monitors student behavior and maintains discipline in the Refocus room;
- Monitors the arrival and dismissal of students assuring that they get to correct classrooms; ·
- Works with individual and groups of students assigned to reinforce instructions previously initiated by the teacher
- Provides personalized attention and assistance to students to develop or improve skills in the academic area.
- May assist in monitoring a behavior plan for students
- Confers regularly with the teacher(s) to discuss plans, receive professional guidance.
- May attend faculty meetings, aide meetings, workshops, and in-service sessions; accompanies and helps with the general supervision
- Creates and supports intervention for students in Tier 2 and 3.
- Assist with attendance incentives and plans.
- Assumes continuing responsibility for maintaining an attractive, interesting area in which to work with students; shares in performance of routine housekeeping, monitoring, and clerical tasks.
- Maintains appropriate records and reports.
- Maintains a professional code of ethics.
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Active Illinois Teaching License preferred, not required
- High Qualified in relevant subject areas according to the Illinois State Board of Education

Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a school setting and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
Travel
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Majority of work will be performed in a general office/school environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings. Physical demands include the ability to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for a short period of time, walk up and down stairs several times a day, reach, bend, and constantly walk, stand, talk and hear.
