Laboratory Technician- Construction Materials

Krazan & Associates, Inc. A Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering Firm is looking for a full-time Lab Technician- Construction Materials to join our Tacoma, Washington office.

No experience Needed!

This position is ideal for entry level candidates interested in starting their career in the Geotechnical and Construction Observation/Material Testing Field.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing samples for analysis of soils, concrete and other media
• Prepare reports and documentation
• Operate mechanical equipment such as concrete compression testing machine, soil compaction equipment, aggregate mechanical sieving equipment, and asphalt testing apparatus
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, assembling and dismantling apparatus as directed. Keep records of equipment use and maintenance
• Assists in the loading and unloading of trucks. Checks quantities of samples received.

Position Requirements:

• Valid driver license with a clean driving record
• Ability to perform math calculations
• Excellent communication skills; ability to read, write and speak in English
• Ability to handle a physical workload and lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to take direction well, be a team player and a self-starter
• Able to work in variable conditions including: heat, cold, dust, and noise

Certifications or experience below is a plus

• Experience with field or laboratory testing of concrete, aggregates, soils, asphalt, etc.
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field-Testing Technician–Grade1
