Applications Engineer - PLC Systems

Position Description:

Must have 7 years of PLC experience.

Design, write, and commission PLC logic. Commission test systems and integrate subsystems to meet complex testing requirements. Troubleshoot complex problems and develop solutions with appropriate input. Must be able to take charge of projects and drive to completion while working with the project team. Ownership of large complex test systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Act as liaison and company representative with customers.
• Commission test systems including:
  1. Setup and troubleshoot test and measurement systems.
  2. Implement and tune complex control loops.
  3. Integrate auxiliary equipment into test system.
  4. Setup monitoring and control of relevant safeties.
  5. Create commissioning documentation.
  6. Obtain customer sign-off.
  7. Provide training on system applications.
• Write and implement advanced custom tests.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Provide sales technical support.
• Provide project engineering technical support.
• Help desk consultation.
• Develop and present training.
• Requires travel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Seven years of experience in test automation equipment or PLC systems preferred.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
• Experience with IC Engines and/or Electrification Systems development and testing desirable.
• Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Understanding of IC Engines and/or Electrification Systems.
• Understanding of instrumentation and electrical practices.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Data Acquisition and Control system commissioning.
• Strong troubleshooting experience in electronics, mechanical, and software.
• Ability to work independently and drive project progress.
