Lead Line Cook

PastryStar is hiring Line Cooks for its jam cooking operation.

We will train you to scale ingredients, prepare and cook using kettles.

Experience in cooking is necessary

. · Ability to read and interpret recipes and procedures

· Knowledge of food ingredient functionality

· Knows how to use a scale

. Can lift 50lb easily

· Ability to assemble, disassemble, clean and sanitize equipment

· · Mix or blend ingredients, according to recipes, using a paddle or an agitator, or by controlling cookers that heat and mix ingredients.

· Turn valve controls to start equipment and to adjust operation to maintain product quality.

· Comply with USDA and HACCP programs

. Able to perform additional duties when and where needed.

This is a day time shift with some weekend hours.

$500 signing bonus in addition to hourly pay.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. This position requires a well-organized individual that is self-motivated and takes charge, is dependable and responsible, enjoys new opportunities and challenges, enjoys working with and developing people, is careful about detail and is thorough in completing tasks as assigned and on time.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, analyze, and interpret ingredient specifications and recipes, Able to speak Spanish is a plus.

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
