The Purchasing Manager is responsible for supervising the efficiency, accuracy, quality assurance and timeliness of product purchasing supporting all internal business units and customers. This individual supervises the team of employees responsible for day-to-day purchasing, planning and importation of product including the direct purchases of components, substrates and accessories for items manufactured through CMT production. This individual and their team directly interacts with an international supply chain made up of factories in multiple countries as well as various internal cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate for this position is an organized and adaptable manager, possessing the ability to identify and develop key processes, support, develop and equip team members for success, and nurture internal, cross-functional collaboration within the organization. Cross-cultural relationship building is an essential skill required for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the product purchasing process and activities for the company.
  • Supervise the CMT process with regards to process, forecasting, and monitoring purchasing and consumption of all CMT substrates, components, and accessories.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with overseas partners, maintaining a strong line of communication and resolution processes.
  • Communicates effectively across the organization to ensure key stakeholders are up-to-date on business-critical information.
  • Evaluate and implement process improvement or enhancements to existing procedures.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross functional teams to drive process improvement upstream and avoid delays and rework at time of delivery.
  • Assist teams in holding factories accountable to meeting ship dates and quality specs, as well as ensuring the team maintains correct and current information in ERP by pro-actively tracking open PO’s and reviewing QC data with standardized reports.
  • Maintains an organized system for purchase orders to ensure quick and easy search and find. Track and maintain accurate information for business pertinent information related to the role.
  • As required, review and approve factory confirmation details such as cost, box dimensions, fabric yield, commodity description, ship date and ship method. Support the team by creating and entering purchase orders as needed.
  • Use available means to proactively resolve issues such as past due reports, open PO reports, purchase order data audits, price reports, comment reports, air freight reports, emails, and phone calls.

Education and Qualifications

  • Education College Degree or Requisite Experience in Supply Chain Field, Preferred
  • Experience 3+ years’ experience in Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain; 3+ years Management
  • Computer Skills Office 365 Proficient, ERP (i.e., Exenta) preferred.
  • Travel <10%

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the office to access files and product.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear and professional manner.
  • Ability to move 10-20 lbs. occasionally throughout day.
  • Able to hear a telephone ring.
