1.0 Position Description

Manufacturing Engineering support position with primary responsibilities focused upon maintaining secondary production equipment and supporting Operations with engineering related functions. This position would follow the production operator work schedule and would be required to work overtime as scheduled for their respective shift.

 

2.0 Position Responsibilities

 

2.1 Address secondary production equipment malfunctions.

2.1.1 Assembly Machines and Fixtures

2.1.2 Routers

2.1.3 Ultra-sonic Equipment

2.1.4 Poke-Yoke Devices

2.2 Perform preventive maintenance activities on secondary production equipment.

2.2.1 Assembly Machines and Fixtures

2.2.2 Router Nests

2.2.3 Assembly Nests

2.2.4 Poke-Yoke Devices

2.3 Develop/modify and distribute work instructions.

2.3.1 Operator instructions

2.3.2 Packaging Instructions

2.3.3 Work cell layouts

2.3.4 Standard work documentation

2.4 Support samples and run-at-rates

2.4.1 Molding

2.4.2 Assembly

2.4.3 Paint

2.4.4 Router

2.5 Perform job audits - Actual vs. B.O.M. and Routings on random jobs at periodic intervals and review results with Manufacturing Engineer.

2.6 Assist manufacturing engineering in obtaining quotes and oversee implementation of revisions to secondary equipment and fixtures driven by ECRs/ECNs, subsequent to initial manufacturing sign-off.

2.7 Assist with producing “special product orders” when requested.

2.8 Assist manufacturing engineering with mocking up and/or development of sample parts when requested.

2.9 Participate in internal problem solving and continuous improvement activities.

2.10 Actively participate in CLC CES activities.

2.11 Understand and adhere to all CLC policies, safety activities, and procedures.

2.12 Understand TS16949 quality system and maintain compliance therewith in daily activities.

2.13 Other duties assigned by Manufacturing Engineering

 

3.0 Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 3.1 Knowledge Requirements:

3.1.1 A minimum of 2 years of experience in plastic part assembly with a good understanding in machine mechanics, assembly processes, manufacturing work center layouts, and ergonomics. Basic blueprint reading. A good understanding of packaging requirements. A good understanding of TS16949 quality system standards.

 

3.2 Language Skill Requirements:

3.2.1 Ability to read, interpret and develop documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and system documentation.

3.2.2 Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.

 

3.3 Mathematical Skills Requirements:

3.3.1 Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

3.3.2 Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry.

3.3.3 Ability to convert metric system to British standard system and vice-versa.

 

3.4 Reasoning Ability Requirements:

3.4.1 Ability to actively manage problem-solving activities.

3.4.2 Ability to apply logic to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

 

3.5 Physical Requirements:

3.5.1 Moderate physical movement and exertion.

 

3.6 Educational Requirements:

3.6.1 High School Diploma or GED

3.6.2 Proficient use of personal computers and computer operation within a network environment.
