Job Description:

The JAAW Group is seeking a talented and experienced Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team. As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing advanced modeling and simulation solutions to support our mission-critical operations and optimize system performance. Your expertise will contribute to driving innovation and enabling data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and implement models and simulations to support system analysis, performance evaluation, and optimization of complex systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers, software developers, and subject matter experts, to understand system requirements and translate them into effective modeling and simulation solutions.
- Utilize modeling and simulation tools and frameworks to create accurate and representative virtual environments and scenarios for simulation studies.
- Conduct simulations, analyze simulation results, and interpret data to provide valuable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Identify and implement appropriate statistical techniques to analyze simulation data, validate models, and perform sensitivity analyses.
- Conduct scenario-based and Monte Carlo simulations to assess system performance, predict outcomes, and evaluate potential risks and mitigations.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate models and simulations within larger software systems or frameworks.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of simulation databases, parameters, and input/output interfaces.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in modeling and simulation techniques, tools, and methodologies, and recommend their adoption to enhance modeling capabilities.
- Document simulation models, methodologies, and results to enable effective communication, knowledge sharing, and reproducibility.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree or higher is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer or a related role, working on complex systems or mission-critical projects.
- Proficiency in simulation software and tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink, Arena, AnyLogic, or equivalent.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Solid understanding of modeling and simulation principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization using tools such as R, Pandas, or Tableau.
- Knowledge of simulation validation and verification techniques.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices, version control systems, and agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within interdisciplinary teams and present simulation results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) may be required for certain positions.
