Position Summary:This is a hands-on position with managing day-to-day activities in our food packaging/bottling department, including the supervision of line leaders, hourly employees, and temporary staffing.Responsible for team development, quality assurance, sanitation, performance, cost, standards, and food safety. Support individuals and teams to solve routine technical or operational issues and motivate staff to achieve established performance targets. Initiates and implements continuous improvements. Review production schedule, ensure proper staffing, and track defined performance indicators. Responsibilities:Essential duties and responsibilities; and other duties may be assigned.Responsible for the daily supervision of the packaging department. Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent leadership abilities to drive employee performance.Meets production goals/objectives relative to schedule attainment, operating efficiencies, yields, labor utilization, etc. Implements effective communication plans to keep direct and indirect reports well informed regarding business objectives, results, initiatives, changes, etc. Interprets and enforces Company policies and procedures; holds employees fully accountable for complying with these standards. Resolves employee issues, questions, and complaints; maintains a positive employee relations environment. Proactively manages safety programs and initiatives; drives a "zero accident, zero lost time" expectation to the production floor.Assesses and implements effective training programs to hourly associates. Tracks performance using KPI metrics; implements corrective action as necessary to ensure objectives are achieved. Participate in the Food Safety Executive team meetings.Updates senior management on business results, concerns, and needs on an ongoing basis. Experience5 years of supervisory experience in food production or related industry.Working knowledge of GFSI standards. HACCP or SQF Certification a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools and ERP software.Effective interpersonal skills,Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and work independently. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Variable temperature conditions within the manufacturing plant and/or office environmentHOURS 6:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. may be required to work mandatory overtime. Ability to climb a ladder and/or catwalk, lift at least 50 pounds, kneel, bend and work above the shoulders.
