Description

The purpose of this position is to communicate effectively with customers and manage the flow of the restaurant. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. You will supervise and direct the activities of staff to make sure that customers have a pleasant experience through prompt and polite service.

General Responsibilities

•Ensure reservations are carried out appropriately.

•Helps manage labor costs.

•Maintain high standards of quality control and health and safety.

•Provide leadership and team building for service staff.

•Coordinate with the AGM and GM to investigate and resolve food quality issues and service complaints.

•Answer customer questions regarding food, drinks, and specials.

•Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.

•Resolve customer complaints or disputes.

•Tend to special guest needs and requests.

•Communicate to waitstaff to ensure efficient and excellent service.

•Ensure lunch or dinner service runs smoothly.

•Effectively communicate with guests which may include tactfully delivering unwelcoming news to a guest.

•Assist and oversee opening/closing tasks and side work as needed.

•You may be asked to cover Assistant GM and GM shifts as occasions arise.

•Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

This position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or

resolving grievances, as a Floor Manager, you will be expected to use your discretion and independent judgement to work with guests to ensure satisfaction. A Floor Manager will have to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor, if previously outlined methods appear unsuccessful.

Requirements

Education:

•High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

•3 years of related experience required.

•Excellent oral communication and customer service skills required.

•Positive interpersonal skills required.

•Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

License/Qualifications:

•Serve Safe Food Handlers Certification.

Discretion / Independent Judgment:

This position represents the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances.

Physical Requirements:

•Ability to speak and hear.

•Close and distance vision.

•Frequent walking with some standing at times.

•Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances.

•Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.

•Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.

•Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

•Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.

Working Conditions:

•May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on season.

•Varied weather conditions are expected.

•Will work near moving or mechanical parts.

•May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.

•Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

Salary Description

$20-$22/hr
