Job Description

We are a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing, precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead exploration project in British Columbia.

Role Overview:

Step into the role of Lead DBA, Exploration, where your expertise will be the cornerstone of

our mineral exploration endeavors. In this pivotal position, you'll provide specialized technical.

support and oversight across all aspects of our exploration databases.

From design and setup to ongoing maintenance and security, you'll ensure that our Exploration

offices receive top-tier support in every facet of database management. Your contributions will

be instrumental in driving the success of our exploration projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, designs, and implements new mineral exploration databases.
  • Monitors and maintains databases and integration of servers, network, and security.
  • Actively develops and improves database functionality (T-SQL)
  • Develops and maintains processes and ETLs to ensure continuous operation of all databases and the correct transference of data between different platforms/applications.
  • Daily and monthly QA/QC analysis, corrective actions, and reporting
  • Establishes standards and procedures to deal with data collection, production of information, data integration and the use of online services.
  • Serves as a technical expert for second level support groups (on-site GIS) and logging geologists.
  • Mentors data specialists
  • Designs training material and provides training when required.
  • Other related duties as required including travel (up to 30%)

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role (8 years+)
  • Professional background as geologist (3 years +)
  • Indispensable qualification: MS SQL certification
  • Knowledge of mineral exploration workflows (Field Sampling/Mapping, Core Logging, Drafting, Laboratory analysis, QAQC)
  • Knowledge of mineral reserves reporting standards such as NI43-101
  • Experience managing and integrating a diverse range of information that include databases (SQL, Access, etc.), GIS (open source, MapInfo and Esri formats) and documents (digital and paper)
  • Experience developing protocols and procedures for data management.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with other employees and contractors using tact, courtesy, and good judgment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering training would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of software packages and applications such as Acquire, Micromine, Leapfrog, ArcGIS and SharePoint are assets.
  • Spanish is an asset.

This is a fully remote role, giving you the freedom to work from wherever suits you best, regardless of your location in Canada or the USA.
