Job Description

Atco Products is located in Ferris, Texas, and is an IATF16949/ISO9001 Certified tubing/hose assembly manufacturer of high-quality automotive and heavy-duty truck components and assemblies. Both original equipment suppliers and aftermarket customers have relied on Atco Products to meet their OE production components and in/out of warranty service and parts requirements for more than 50 years.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Engineering/PPAP Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and providing essential support to our engineering department. You will be responsible for documenting APQP processes and meticulously initiating and tracking Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is passionate about quality assurance and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee the entire PPAP process, including submission, approval, and implementation of new parts or engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production) to gather required documentation and information for PPAP submissions.
  • Coordinates findings and corrections with the manufacturing and product engineers.
  • Initiates and tracks manufacturing documentation activities, including launching ECR/ECN processes and maintaining the ECN and APQP log, to address gaps identified after customer PPAP requests from customers.
  • Initiates engineering runs and PPAP runs to support product development and approval processes.
  • Collaborates with the quality, production, planning, materials and customer service teams to establish timelines and activities for manufacturing processes to ensure timely and accurate submission of PPAP documents.
  • Coordinates meetings and activities with various team members to ensure timelines are on track to meet customer dates effectively.
  • Leads completion of Feasibility Analysis documentation during cross-functional meetings to support product quote reviews.
  • Support engineering projects by organizing meetings, preparing project timelines, and tracking deliverables.
  • Maintains IMDS (International Material Data System) documentation and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Records changes, maintains traceability for new products and PPAP documents, and manages the sample catalog.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma with 2 years of experience in similar role,
  • Proven Experience in documentation and processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in similar office environment desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with customers. (Required)
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management groups, clients, customers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to work any continuous or fixed schedule, possibly including an excessive number of hours occasionally in a single workday, on any day of the calendar week depending on business needs.
