A product assembler works in a warehouse environment or for a manufacturer, producing components that require the assembly of parts. In this career, you can assemble these components by hand or with small tools. Your responsibilities include reading blueprints, assembling or fabricating mechanical parts, maintaining inventory in your workstation, performing quality checks as required, identifying product defects, and repairing equipment as needed. You use various hand tools and more complex equipment, depending on your position. You may also be in charge of loading completed assemblies onto trucks and unloading parts utilizing a forklift.
