The qualifications needed to become a product assembler include a high school diploma or GED certificate, reading skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and some computer skills. You must be detail-oriented and able to problem-solve. Physically, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. You also need excellent manual dexterity to complete repetitive assemblies accurately and efficiently. Some employers require previous experience in assembly positions.
