Diesel Mechanic Shop Assistant

We are seeking a responsible team member to assist our Fleet Manager.
• Assist with minor and major truck and trailer repairs.
• Help mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as oil changes, checks tires and brakes, and engage in other similar tasks
• Assist mechanics with electrical systems, such as replacing batteries, starters, and lights.
• Collaborate with operators and managers to diagnose problems with equipment and plan repairs.
• Assist with regular diagnostic tests on equipment.
• Test drives vehicles to ensure repairs are completed property.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and return tools to proper location.
• Maintain, order, and pick up parts and other shop inventory.
• Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on equipment.
• Performs other operational duties as assigned.

Are you qualified?

• Minimum age 21
• Valid driver's license
• Paid hourly for all hours worked
• Some overnight travel to fix equipment on the job site
• Willing to obtain a CDL in the first year of employment. Will reimburse up to $750 upon completion of school
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions
• High level of initiative
• Familiarity with the safe and effective use of power, air, and hand tools
• Ability to lift 30 or more lbs.
• Diesel experience is a plus
• CDL a plus
• Routine background, alcohol, and drug testing
