We are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our team based out of our Chaska, MN location. This role will report to the Production Supervisor and work onsite five days per week to enhance our customers' success, and ensure that products are produced safely, timely, and cost-effectively. This role leads our production professionals on the third shift, which runs Sunday -Thursday, from 9:30 PM to around 7 AM.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manages the daily production of customers' orders so that production meets or exceeds the
production schedule while meeting safety, quality and cost goals.
- Ensures that daily production goals/objectives are met; takes action when they are not met.
Conduct a daily production meeting at the beginning of each shift to communicate the daily goals and
progress to the crews and provides other required information. - Observe daily work progress, and pre-empt bottle-necks in production to ensure continuous line operation.
- Initiate and support programs that drive for an engaged workforce, resulting in improved morale and
employee ownership of results. - Maintains an active presence on the floor to monitor, motivate and ensure success
2. Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.
- Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements
- Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
- Uses metrics to identify gaps and build improvement plans, striving for zero defects.
- Ensures department SOPs and Work Instructions are developed, maintained, trained to, and followed by
employees to drive a culture of discipline throughout the shift. - Utilizes daily standard work for self and direct reports to reinforce a culture of discipline and consistent
practices.
3. Manage the safety, cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the shop floor and work stations.
- Ensure that equipment cleaning and sanitation processes are followed and documented.
- Ensures a clean and organized work environment that adheres to the Department's housekeeping schedule.
- Ensure OSHA safety requirements are being met and that company safety processes are followed.
- Ensure a SAFE work environment is maintained in all aspects.

5. Perform other work as assigned.
Direction and oversight of others
- 5-6 Lead-type employees with 15-35 hourly employees and all temporary workers.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
- This position requires more than 5 years and less than or equal to 10 years in a manufacturing environment
within a regulated industry. - Minimum of 5 years of production supervisory/management experience required.
Knowledge Requirements
- To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of management skills, "batch processing", lean
manufacturing terms and techniques, shipping, and fulfillment. Requires an understanding of reporting software such as Alliance. - Requires specific knowledge in a manufacturing or technical field and knowledge ideally in the
personal care, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical products industry. - Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college, resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
