Design Engineering Supervisor

A company located in Juarez Mexico and in El Paso, Texas is hiring a Design Engineering Supervisor familiar with steel joists and metal decking. The position required me to work in Juarez and El Paso.

***Please, do not apply if you do not have a PE license and Joist/ Desk design program experience***

General Responsibilities:

§ Responsible for the performance of the Design team; and ensuring Designers receive appropriate training and performance feedback.

§ Maintain, develop, and communicate design standards and practices where necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.

§ Communicate regularly with the Engineering Manager and other groups and personnel to ensure processes and workflow are aligned.

§ Be familiar with internal joist/deck design programs to facilitate training, troubleshoot problems, and design projects when necessary.

§ Familiarity with Steel Joist Institute and related OSHA requirements to ensure adequate designs are provided by the Design team.

Required skills:

§ Must be willing and able to conduct regular performance reviews for Designers, discussing both positive feedback and opportunities for improvement.

§ Must be very organized and able to manage time effectively.

§ Fluent with MS Excel to assist with reporting, scheduling, and analyzing group performance and other metrics. MS Project is a plus.

§ Must be willing and able to effectively schedule work for the Designers to meet Customer needs and project schedule

§ Proficient in English and Spanish is a plus

§ Familiarity with internal joist/deck design program.

§ Civil PE Licensure, or able to get it a reasonable time.

§ Experience in the steel joist industry.
