Job Scope: Assistant Manager of Conveyance is responsible for the daily operations planning, delivery, and execution of the overall assigned PC areas (conveyance, wash/recycle) This includes leadership development of Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and individual development of Team Members in this area. The Assistant Manager will play a critical role in fostering/promoting a quality focused, continuous improvement environment that engages those assigned to the area.
Job Functions:
- Drive and support all company initiatives by promoting, understanding, and taking ownership/accountability for the communication and ultimately the execution of given directives.
- Train and mentor Group Leaders and Team Leaders on all aspects of leading a safe and productive department.
- Identify problem-areas in the department and develop/maintain improvement plans aimed at eliminating all obstacles preventing the department from achieving set targets.
- Ability to create / manage new projects schedules as directed by manager
- Prepare presentations when needed for internal customers - speaking to our internal logistics processes and corrective actions for issues that arise.
- Achieve pre-established/develop new labor performance and productivity targets while maintaining budgeted headcount.
- Manage expenses within the department and provide feedback on overages and corrective actions if necessary.
- Implement Kaizen to support PC Department CP and Targets.
- Manage the necessary PC KPI reports to be reviewed by management.
- Other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to, MHE management and condition.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have at least 10 years of work experience in Internal Logistics/Warehousing
- Must have at least 6 years of experience in a leadership role
- Knowledge of Ecar and Forklift Operations
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Knowledge of raw materials, production control processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods
- Proven ability to achieve measurable and sustainable results using multiple lean manufacturing tools including Kaizen and event facilitation
- Proven ability to effectively measure and analyze data to determine process effectiveness and enable data-based decision making
- Strong Microsoft office skills ( Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
