Job Description
Salary: $65,000

Job Summary:  Primarily, the candidate’s main function will be as a developer in the configuration, pricing, and quotation (CPQ) system and the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The candidate will oversee the development or modification of application programs. This position is much more than “just technical programming” and the candidate must be willing to understand, grasp and apply technical and functional concepts of the business and business systems. The candidate will work within the engineering department and will work closely with the engineers but will also work closely with the marketing and sales departments. Workloads can and do change based on where the company needs are at. The individual could be asked to get involved with areas outside of their “normal” duties. Outside of the main function, the individual could be responsible for tasks related to custom solutions per customer requests, business requirements and/or as data analysis, sales support, and any other party needing support deemed appropriate by management.


Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • The individual could be expected to get involved in configuring products in our CPQ and/or ERP systems.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple groups and departments both internal and external to the company.
  • As experts for our products, the candidate may be given additional assignments which could require the utilization of any number of resources to achieve task objectives. Such projects could require skills or resources outside of the normal scope of the position(s); however, such assignments are to be expected and are not considered outside the scope of this position’s responsibilities.
  • Create reports and correspondence.
  • Develop and document features in the CPQ system.
  • Must be able to analyze system issues to provide insight into the problems and provide solutions to said problems.


Requirements:

  • Have obtained or actively in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or have a similar amount of work experience programming.
  • Preferably with 0 – 5 years’ experience
  • Have practical experience in a related work environment.
  • Have experience with various programming languages.
    • Python
    • Delphi
    • JavaScript
    • C++
    • Camos
    • SAP ABAP
  • Have experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software package such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP. Hörmann LLC manages operations with SAP; therefore, experience with this package is preferred.
  • Can work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Can work flexible hours when required to complete necessary job assignments.
  • Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.
  • Must promote a safe work environment.


Essential Mental Functions:

  • Must be able to follow an established routine and be predisposed to high level of interaction in a team environment.
  • Successful candidates must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently without continuous supervision.
  • Be detailed in the creation or review of published documents.
  • Be detailed in his/her work taking special precautions with regards to safety and security
  • Be open and honest with fellow staff members and the engineering manager to ensure the quality of work performed while fostering an open, honest, and ethical work environment.
  • Speak and communicate well with customers and colleagues.


Essential Physical Functions:

  • Although the employee is not expected to perform extraneous physical activities in the completion of their work, frequent trips into areas of production may be necessary, therefore, they must be physically able to safely maneuver in production areas. 
  • May require walking primarily on a level surface for specific periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.


Travel Requirements:

  • The travel for this position is expected to be less than 20%.
