Summary               
The Indiana Energy Independence Fund (IEIF), through partnership with Public Sector Consultants, is committed to helping Hoosiers make responsible financial decisions that make their homes more comfortable, buildings less wasteful, and bank accounts grow by lowering energy bills. This work depends upon building a network of certified contractors who will introduce and encourage the use of IEIF financing programs to their customers.

The Indiana Energy Independence Fund is seeking a contractor account manager who is responsible for building and maintaining relationships between authorized contractors and the IEIF, with the goal of developing deeper connections and increasing contractors’ use of IEIF financing services.
 Essential Duties
  • Contacts contractors and contractor sales representatives within the HVAC, home remodeling, commercial lighting, solar photovoltaic, and geothermal industries and encourages them to join the Indiana Energy Independence Fund (IEIF) authorized contractor network
  • Builds relationships with contractors, contractor associations, utilities, community organizations, labor unions, local government entities, and lenders across the state of Indiana
  • Identifies companies that offer energy efficiency and clean energy improvements to their customers; introduces and encourages the use of IEIF financing programs
  • Coordinates with finance product partners, utility companies, trade associations, financial partners, and other key stakeholders to implement and promote IEIF statewide
  • Communicates the IEIF strong value proposition to contractors, trains sales personnel to IEIF financing, and develops and grows new contractor accounts
  • Identifies contractor training needs and selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods, such as individual education, group instruction, and computer-based training
  • Presents IEIF programs at conferences, seminars, and other industry events
  • Supports workforce development efforts to grow the Indiana clean energy contractor workforce, especially among underserved communities, in collaboration with local and statewide partners
  • Submits weekly activity and progress reports to management

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred along with five years of experience in contractor sales and/or account management or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience that provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with energy efficiency and/or renewable energy improvements in residential and commercial markets
  • Excellent communication, customer service, networking, and presentation skills
  • English and Spanish language skills 
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong financial/business insight
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support contractors and local events
  • Strong competency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Certifications from Building Performance Institute; Residential Energy Services Network; American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers; Association of Energy Engineers; or other certifications preferred but not required

 Work EnvironmentThis position requires extensive travel throughout Indiana (> 50%) and the employee will spend significant time driving in both rural and urban areas. When not driving, work is primarily performed in an indoor, environmentally controlled office setting. Limited airline travel may be required. The incumbent will work from a home or remote office. The nature of the work has frequent interruptions, contact with the public and clients, and performance of repetitive tasks. The position requires strong communication skills. While the employee may be occasionally required to work beyond normal working hours, we strive for staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
 Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $65,000–$90,000
  • Eligibility for company profit share
