Part Time Bookkeeper

Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is currently looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling and managing all aspects of day-to-day accounting through year-end closing. i.e. A/R, A/P, data entry, journal entries, volume payroll, weekly closing, quarterly’s and year-end preparation.

This is an hourly part-time opportunity that will require 40 hours weekly during training and for busy times (monthly, quarterly’s, year-end closings) otherwise around 25 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Weekly payroll of up to 400 employees
• Taxes associated with payroll -state and federal
• Garnishments
• Workers' compensation reporting/audits
• Quarterly reporting multi-state- including but not limited to NY 45, 941 SUI/withholding
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Complete weekly journal entries into QuickBooks
• A/P and A/R
• Yearly reporting including W2
• Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
• Working with CPA for end of year closings
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field
• Two (2) to three (3) years of traditional bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Two years of experience working within QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and MS Office
• Strength in MS Excel would be a plus (pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Ability to switch between tasks and prioritize daily workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Discretion and confidentiality

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00, though a candidate's salary will be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
